Use attributes and compatibility rules

Let Anchor check whether two products fit together, deterministically.

Before you start: Products with attributes.

Why

Some businesses sell parts that must match (for example a CPU socket and a motherboard socket). A rule states the match once; Anchor applies it to any pair without guessing.

Steps

  1. Add matching attributes to the products (for example socket).
  2. Open Compatibility and choose New rule.
  3. Name it and set the source and target category and attribute keys.
  4. Choose two products and select Check.

Reading the result

  • Compatible: the rule matched.
  • Potentially incompatible: the rule did not match.
  • Unknown: no rule applies or an attribute is missing.
